WDA Kenya Trip 2023
A large-scale strategic effort to disciple & equip pastors across Africa.
Dates: June 14 – June 23/28
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (+ optional Masai Mara safari or Mount Kenya climb)
Amount needed to raise (per person): $3,500 – $4,700 (from outside Africa) / $1,500 – $2,500 (from within Africa)
Who should come on this trip: Anyone with a heart for Africa, WDA, discipleship, or emotional restoration.
About: WDA Africa is a conference every four years for all African staff to come together, worship, connect, learn, and strategize. We want to equip, refresh, and encourage WDA Africa staff with space to connect with God and each other, to form meaningful working relationships, to receive new WDA materials, and to unify around a vision for deepening and expanding WDA’s ministry in Africa. Trip participants may offer workshops in their field of expertise to equip our staff on a variety of subjects or simply build relationships to encourage and pray for staff.
Following WDA Africa, participants are encouraged to stay for WDA’s discipleship training with the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK). We will train 330 county leaders from across Kenya in WDA’s basic discipleship philosophy and organize them into WDA Leadership Institute cohorts. WDA volunteers will learn WDA’s discipleship approach and participate in cohort groups with Kenyan leaders.
Upon completion of our EAK meetings, those who sign up for the optional Masai Mara safari or the Mount Kenya climb will depart for 3 days. This will facilitate further connections with WDA staff in a relaxing environment. WDA Africa interns will then report to their ministry sites across Africa while all others return home.
Long-term goals for this trip:
- Staff will renew their vision for WDA,
- Facilitate networking for future working partnerships and financial support for staff
- Staff will be able to communicate easily on all WDA platforms
- Every WDA country will develop work in a new African country within 2 years
- Every WDA staff member will be able to nominate a new WDA staff member within 2 years.
- Every WDA staff member will commit to reading all WDA materials in the next 2 years.
