Greg and Shannon Hammond
Next Generation Ministry
Depauw University
Greencastle, IN, U.S.

Greg and Shannon Hammond disciple, mentor, and model what it means to follow Jesus as they minister to college students at DePauw University and young adults in the surrounding area. They serve in the Next Generation Ministry of Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) in Greencastle, Indiana.
Their passion is to give every young adult the opportunity to know Jesus personally. Many people are religious, but they don’t have a relationship with Jesus. It’s discouraging to see so many people claim Christianity without truly following Christ. Greg and Shannon can relate-they both grew up in church but didn’t fully understand what it means to follow Jesus until later in life. The Hammonds are committed to helping young adults grow into mature followers of Christ – we are building tomorrow’s Christian leaders today!
Our mission is to help young adults become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ who can, in turn, disciple others. We make disciples who disciple!
Our vision is to equip and prepare mature believers to carry their values into every corner of life, whether that’s in education, medicine, engineering, full-time ministry, etc. Our alumni make a difference wherever God takes them! In fact, one of our alumni said, “I don’t see myself as an engineer, I
see myself as a missionary disguised as an engineer.”
Greg and Shannon have been in ministry for over 30 years now! They are encouraged by how they have seen God work in the lives of students, transforming hearts and changing lives. They are even more encouraged to see how God continues to use those students as they live out their faith and impact others in their sphere of influence long after they’ve graduated!
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”
– Luke 10:2
