Fayetteville, GA, October 28, 2021 — Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) will present a free webinar on “Welcoming People Well: Assimilation Strategies” on November 3, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm ET. The event will be on Zoom. Lesley Deyton, Minister of Assimilation and Development at New Hope Baptist Church, will lead the webinar.

WDA reports that the webinar will include 30 minutes of instruction and discussion, followed by a brief Q&A. The training will cover helping every person who comes to your church or ministry connect well, giving first-time visitors a pathway to be part of your church and ministry, and more.

Webinar registration is now open for free and will close on November 2. Register online at wdaleadershipinstitute.com/welcoming-well.

“Welcoming and engaging guests to your church is essential,” said Lesley Deyton. “We foster growth as believers and as people through relationships. If our guests feel wanted and cared for by the way we respond to them, they are more likely to return and engage with our mission. In this webinar we will discuss strategies you can implement right away to connect with each person and family that visits your church.”

Fayetteville, GA, August 21, 2021 — Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) and Restoring Your Heart (RYH) plan to host a free talk on “How To Release True Forgiveness” on August 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Facebook Live. The Director of Restoring Your Heart Indonesia, Ellen Patricia, will host the event.

WDA reports that the Facebook Live talk will include information on how to get past forgiveness roadblocks, the psychology and science of forgiveness, and how Restoring Your Heart ministries can help with the forgiveness process. Join online on the RYH Facebook page.

Restoring Your Heart offers a series of safe, small group experiences for those who desire freedom from emotional hurt and unprocessed pain. The ministry is delivered through the church and other organizations via trained leaders who facilitate safe, gender-specific small groups to their congregation and surrounding community. RYH was developed by Jack Larson, an Atlanta-based pastor, and a team of theologians, mental health professionals, and lay leaders who collaborated to produce workbooks and group experiences geared toward helping individuals process past pain, understand emotions, and conquer shame. Restoring Your Heart is a ministry of Worldwide Discipleship Association.

“This free live talk about forgiveness is so important in the age we’re living in, where so many of us are dealing with high emotional stress and pain stemming not only from our childhoods but from current events as well,” said Jennifer McClin, WDA’s Director of Generosity. “Most of us do not realize the level at which we are personally affected by our own inability to forgive others. We often think of forgiveness as releasing a person that we’re angry with, but, in actuality, it releases us and empowers us to grow, heal, and become more whole and loving human beings. I have personally experienced this release and the unexpected sense of freedom and love that was delivered through forgiving someone who hurt me years ago. I’m so glad that WDA can offer a free discussion on this important topic so that people can internalize these concepts.”

Fayetteville, GA, August 21, 2021 — Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) announced today that new fall Cohort Groups are opening on its Leadership Institute learning platform. There will be nine new cohort groups opening for registration, with three cohorts beginning September 2021, two cohorts beginning January 2022, two cohorts beginning February 2022, and two cohorts beginning May 2022.

WDA reports that the cohort groups are designed to be used in conjunction with its Developing New Leaders I certification course, and that the weekly cohort meetings reinforce and expand on the course content. The Developing New Leaders I course includes 50 lessons on Biblical topics such as the Sermon on the Mount, spiritual warfare, and leading small groups. Register online on the WDA Leadership Institute website.

The Leadership institute is a leadership development pathway designed to develop mature leaders who reproduce themselves through a progressive discipleship model. Courses are relationship-driven and application-based. Each course combines short videos, articles, guided discussions, and group activities to progressively develop the character, skills, and habits required of mature disciple building leaders for the church today.

“I believe these upcoming Developing New Leaders cohort groups will be an exciting opportunity to train new leaders around the world,” said Nathan Harkness, WDA’s Director of International Ministries and the WDA Leadership Institute Director. “We are committed to starting small, pairing our students with our best WDA leaders for 50 weeks of intentional leadership development. We’ve seen so many lives changed already through these groups as our students learn about leadership by discipling others and walking through an intentional growth process in their lives. We can’t wait to hear the many testimonies of lives changed through the WDA Leadership Institute!”

Fayetteville, GA, July 31, 2021 — Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) is hosting a virtual launch party for its new Leadership Institute learning platform on August 13 at 9:45 a.m. ET on Facebook Live. WDA’s Director of International Ministries, Nate Harkness, will emcee the launch party event.

WDA reports that the launch party will include course teasers, instructor commissioning, course discounts and deals, and student testimonies. Join online on the WDA Facebook page.

The Leadership institute is a leadership development pathway designed to develop mature leaders who reproduce themselves through a progressive discipleship model. Courses are relationship-driven and application-based. Each course will combine short videos, articles, guided discussions, and group activities to progressively develop the character, skills, and habits required of mature disciple building leaders for the church today. According to Nate Harkness, WDA’s Director of International Ministries, the Leadership Institute’s instructional model is unique because it is patterned directly after Christ’s progressive development approach with the twelve disciples.

“Discipleship is a word that is overused and misunderstood in the church,” said Harkness. “People think discipleship is just about ‘getting involved’ in church, attending a class, or serving in a local ministry. But when you study the ministry of Christ, you see a group of immature disciples walk through a step-by-step process with Jesus and eventually become pillars of the church. WDA has been working to develop an answer to this crisis and what emerged was the Leadership Institute.”
