Parks Wilson 2 - Headshot 2015 - 350k - sRGBParks and his wife Julie live in Lafayette, IN.

He is the Director of the WDA Next Generation ministry at Purdue WDA.

Parks meets weekly with young men who are interested in being discipled in their journey with Christ. This time includes Biblical content as well as prayer for life situations.

Parks helps lead a weekly Bible study named “Alpha Fellowship,” which is a combined meeting of students from Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and Alpha Chi Omega sorority as well as others that join in occasionally. They study various books of the Bible and relevant topics. He also meets one-on-one with some of the men who desire to be discipled.

Another key role of his ministry is a position as house advisor for Acacia Fraternity. He seeks to build friendships with the men in the house as a mentor and adult presence. Parks seeks to be salt and light in many ways to the men of Acacia including relevant conversations with them about life and the issues with which they struggle.

Parks is a “Faculty Fellow” for a floor in Tarkington Residence Hall. The Faculty Fellow program is designed by Purdue University to give students access to faculty and staff in a relaxed atmosphere outside of the classroom. He builds relationships and has regular meals with the guys on the floor. There are many opportunities to mentor the men living there and he is praying that God will use him in their lives.

At his church in West Lafayette, Parks serves on the men’s leadership and teaching team for the Man-2-Man ministry. It is a monthly meeting of men with good food, fellowship, worship and Biblical teaching as well as an evangelistic outreach twice a year.

He also leads “Restoring Your Heart” groups. They are emotional recovery groups to help men process any unresolved pain and emotional issues in their lives. The participants have seen amazing growth and healing.

Occasionally, Parks is invited to preach at area churches, filling in for the lead pastor.

In all of these venues, Parks prays for opportunities for evangelism and discipleship.
