Disciple building is a biblical imperative, a primary
task for the Church (Matthew 28:19-20). It is the
process by which more mature believers, in cooperation with God’s
Spirit, assist less mature believers as they progress in their faith
toward Christlike maturity, intimacy with God and good works. The
goal of disciple building is maturity that glorifies God.
Biblical Approach
Jesus had a plan for building disciples and transferred that plan
to His followers. Christ’s disciple building not only included
evangelism but also the development of character that followed a progressive
pattern of growth. The Gospels show that Jesus taught truths in
a particular order encouraging the progressive growth of each follower from
their first call until He left them.
Phases of Growth
By studying the ministry and methods of Jesus, the Master Disciple
Builder, WDA discovered five phases of growth—a biblical process
that produces maturity. In addition, we identified five specific
activities that facilitate spiritual growth. This process is clear,
practical and transferable.
Practical Disciple Building
Extensive research, coupled with decades of disciple building experience,
has enabled WDA to help modern disciple builders design and implement
specific growth projects. More than just a program, this approach
meets people where they are by equipping them for ministry and helping them overcome emotional and
relational obstacles to growth.
WDA serves the Church by offering training
and resources to emphasize the priority
of disciple building, to train disciple builders and to build disciples.

“I have been
committed to discipleship throughout my ministry, yet it has
been difficult to see it accomplished in a consistent way. WDA’s
philosophy of ministry has expanded my vision of all that is
involved in disciple building and its centrality to the health
and reproductive abilities of the church.”
